How to Calculate Percentages
Formula 1: X% of Y
Result = (X / 100) × Y
Example: 15% of 200 = (15/100) × 200 = 30
Formula 2: X is what % of Y?
Result = (X / Y) × 100
Example: 30 is what % of 200? = (30/200) × 100 = 15%
Formula 3: % Change
Result = ((New − Old) / |Old|) × 100
Example: 80 to 100 = ((100−80)/80) × 100 = +25%
